The Walking Dead: 5 Spin-Offs That Could Work But Probably Wouldn’t

The Cure

The Walking Dead Cure Doctors at the Centre for Disease Control were working on a cure to the zombie outbreak as revealed in season one's "TS-19". There it was revealed that there were CDC bunkers around the country that had lost contact with each other and were presumed dead. But what if there were survivors who were still trying to find a cure? A handful of doctors forced to work under the worst conditions, trying to discover what started the outbreak and how to cure it. A show like this would be able to take on the issues of medical ethics (how far would you go to save humanity?), an ever present danger within (bunker will detonate to contain disease if the generator runs out of gas or stops running) and multiple ever present dangers outside (humans wanting to get into the warmth and safety of the bunker, people seeking a cure and of course, the undead). It could work but how long would it take before falling into Gilligan's Island trope of teasing the viewer that they may THIS WEEK get out of zombie world - We have a cure this week but it only works on this zombie, we only have enough to cure 1 person and we can never make it again, we have what at first looks like a cure but it wears off etc, etc.
