The Episode: Killer Within

How It Happened: After Andrew let walkers loose in the prison and all hell broke loose, T-Dog attempted to close a fence before more could get into the courtyard, only for a walker to take a bite out of his shoulder. That didn't stop him, however, and as he tried to help Carol get to safety later on, he sacrificed his life to physically hold off walkers - with his arms and throat being torn into as he did - so that she could make it.

Why It Was Great: Though T-Dog had been with the show since the beginning, it never really felt as though he mattered, but his death revealed that - in his own way - he did, giving the underutilized character a heroic, unforgettable send-off that revealed more about his character than had ever been revealed before.
