The Walking Dead: 6 Things "What Happened And What's Going On" Got Right (And 4 It Didn't)

2. Where Is Everyone?

At time The Walking Dead does struggle with its ensemble. Even when it was notably smaller than it is now, there were characters like T-Dog that were forever pushed into the background, to the point that you'd forget they even existed. The first half of season five did a good job at expanding the scope past Rick by having the group break up and do different things. That allowed the spotlight to fall on Abraham and his group, Maggie and Glenn, Daryl and Carol, Noah and Beth. Bringing them all (well, nearly all) back together was inevitable, but it wasn't handled particularly well in this episode. When they rolled up to Richmond, it wasn't clear where everybody was. Tyreese and Noah were hanging out together for some reason €“ please don't say it was because they're both black €“ whilst Rick stuck with Micchone. Glenn and Maggie were briefly glimpsed. But the geography of the rest of the gated community wasn't obvious, nor were people's place in them. Were they safe from walkers? What's Carl up to? Who knows?
