The Walking Dead: 6 Things "What Happened And What's Going On" Got Right (And 4 It Didn't)

The Bad

4. The Brother €œTwist€

That two minute preview that AMC released for The Walking Dead's mid-season premiere was odd. It seemed like it was more a collection of scenes from the episode than €œthe first few minutes€, as it was described, but it turned out that non-traditional introduction to the back half of the fifth season was exactly how it happened. It was like an artier version of the flash forwards Breaking Bad used to put at the start of episodes. It was a little easier to interpret the disparate, seemingly unconnected images in this case, however. Which was nice, because visual storytelling isn't always this show's forte, all too often falling into the telling instead of showing trap. From those pictures at the start, it was clear Noah had a brother he was looking for in Richmond. Then Tyreese found photos that involved...another brother! Which was not an exciting twist. And he already knew there was another person in the house. He saw him behind that one door. That was stupid.
