5. Frances
The Episode: "We Are the End of the World"
How it Happened:
While out with Alpha and other members of the Whisperers collecting more walkers, the sight of a walker with a baby carrier caused Frances to finally snap. She immediately set upon Alpha, drawing walkers in on the both of them, until she was pulled away by her own sister and left to be torn apart by the undead.
Why It's on This List:
While Frances' death isn't anything we haven't seen before, what it meant for the bigger picture makes it more impactful. After all, she had given up her own daughter in season nine under Alpha's command, something her own sister deemed fair considering Alpha had been willing to let Lydia die for the greater good.
But once Gamma discovered that Alpha had very much not made the same sort of sacrifice she demanded of everyone else upon learning that Lydia was still alive, it set the stage for an Gamma/Alpha showdown that seems like it will inevitably expose Alpha's lie to the rest of the group.
