While there are plenty of good characters on The Walking Dead (and a few non-entities), none are as great as Carol. Nope, not even Daryl (and yes, I'm aware he's not on this list - he's a very good character, and I don't particularly want to see him go, but I don't actually think the show would suffer that much if he did, and him being the one to suffer at the hands of Negan would be huge). For a show that has so often struggled with character development, she's the one they've really got right, from a wallflower of a wife, abused by her husband, to perhaps the most ruthless member of Rick's group, hardened by some truly tragic events. She saved the group in Season 5, and she's helped do it again this year, going full-on Rambo (Cambo? No, please forget I ever said that) to protect Alexandria from the Wolves, and she's a key player when it comes to any future chance of survival. She's a hero, but a dangerous and pragmatic one. She has her morals, but ultimately, she'll do what needs to be done, which has been shown in stark contrast to the ways of Morgan this year, something they'll hopefully continue to explore in the remainder of Season 6. There are few better characters to watch in full-flow than Carol Peletier, and long may it continue. If Carol dies, I'll riot. Who's with me? Agree with this list? Which characters do you think cannot die in the rest of Season 6? Share your thoughts - or just shout at me about leaving out Daryl - in the comments. Follow us on Twitter: @WhatCultureTV
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
