The Walking Dead: 8 Characters Who Should Die In Season 8

The Walking Dead likes to write off a major protagonist at least once a season.

Last year it was series original Glenn, with two of the best supporting characters Abraham and Sasha also killed to make it a particularly dark and depressing season.

This feels like Morgan’s time. The character has come full circle; from the damaged, grieving parent who cleared, to the merciful student of philosophy, and right back to a balanced survivor, which is close to what he was upon his introduction in the pilot episode.

It could be Morgan’s indecision which gets him killed, as he is desperate to take revenge for the death of Benjamin, and yet has not abandoned his "all life is precious" mantra.

In the comic books, Rick’s alliance wins the war and Negan is locked up in a cell in Alexandria, of which kind we have already seen used by Morgan to hide his wolf captive from the others. It could be Morgan’s death which convinces Rick to keep Negan alive as a hostage, rather than kill him as he has promised to do on multiple occasions already.

It would be a fitting tribute to Lennie James’ skilfully-portrayed character, and would leave the fate of Negan undetermined, opening up all sorts of possibilities for season nine.
