5. The Source Of The Outbreak Is Revealed

The first season of The Walking Dead revolved around the survivors attempting to find out where the zombie infection hailed from and whether there was any sort of cure. When that mission proved to be fruitless, this was a plot thread left alone until Eugene's appearance in season five. Once again, it was revealed that there was little hope of any sort of answers, but the series could do something really unique and special by revealing where the outbreak came from even if there's still no chance of a cure. It's rare that zombie movies address the source of what led to the dead rising and starting to eat people, but The Walking Dead finding a way to address that (whether it's supernatural in nature, a result of the Earth fighting back after years of being abused by the human race, or some sort of government weapon gone wrong and exposed to the population) could make for fascinating viewing. Of all the ways that The Walking Dead could end, it's satisfying to think of the survivors learning where the outbreak which has destroyed their lives came from. This would especially be the case if the answer was a tragic one with real world connections that really leave the viewer with something to think about.
