The Walking Dead: 8 Insane Ways The TV Show Should End

6. Everyone Dies

As bleak as this would be, it would also make for a realistic and brutally memorable way to bring The Walking Dead to an end. The show is never going to wrap up with Rick Grimes as the new President of the United States leading an entire nation of survivors in a rebuilt America. That's because The Walking Dead is at its core a very personal tale of a small group of survivors, and based on the way so many beloved - and hated - characters have been killed off over the years, Rick and his fellow survivors ultimately falling in battle is plausible and would be a strong note to end things on. The likes of Rick, Michonne, and Carl all going down fighting a massive zombie hoard would be tragic, but fitting after they've overcome the odds so many times before; everyone's luck runs out eventually after all. If the undead aren't going to vanish any time soon, then having them overcome those who have survived is inevitable, and given everything they've done, do Rick and company even really deserve a happy ending? While I certainly don't think they all deserve to die, having whoever is left standing by the time the series wraps up going out together would bring their stories to a fitting end and provides viewers with a definitive conclusion. There would be no wondering what happens next; we would simply know that this group of people who fought for survival for so long were ultimately unable to outrun the death surrounding them.
