The Walking Dead: 8 Reasons The Season 7 Premiere Was A Failure
2. Poor Old Abe
Abraham is dead. No more adventures for the moustache-sporting redhead and his humorous put-downs. A fan favourite character since his introduction, Abraham was a very welcome addition both for his survival capability and his levity. Not to mention his love of cigars and rocket launchers...the man loved a good rocket launcher.
What a shame the episode completely undercuts his death by giving us a two-for-one. The cliffhanger led up to the death of Abraham and we were sad to see him go, but following it up with a bait and switch Glenn death not only lessens the impact, but suggests that the writers just plain didn't care about Abraham as much as we did. Apparently he wasn't important enough, or at least not enough of a loss so they felt the need to double-down.
Undermining the death of Abraham is one of a myriad of failings and further evidence that the aim of the episode was to abuse, rather than develop.
