The Walking Dead: 9 Comic Book Moments The TV Show Totally Butchered

6. The Tyreese And Rick Showdown

For as much as fans of The Walking Dead love Daryl, he's proven to be a pretty big problem when it comes to finding space for major characters from the comic book. Because, while everyone's favourite crossbow-wielding zombie killer has served as Rick's right hand man for years now, it's meant that the comic characters who fit the same role in the source material don't get to have the same relationship with Rick in the show.

And this changing dynamic probably affected Tyreese's TV show incarnation the most. Already introduced way after he showed up in the comic, the TV series' version of Tyreese never really became close with Rick at any point, and the two definitely didn't become the force-to-be-reckoned-with double-act they were in the source material.

As a result, when the two fall out in season 4 and get into a fight in the prison courtyard, the lack of relationship between them makes the scene honestly a little uncomfortable. Hell, it ends with Rick ruthlessly beating one of his own (who has just lost his girlfriend, by the way) to a bloody pulp, making our supposed hero look like an utter maniac in the process.
