The Walking Dead: 9 Things "Conquer" Got Right (And 1 It Didn't)

6. Clever Carol

Whilst the Daryl and Carol team-up seems to be over, the former housewife has gone from strength to strength in Alexandria. It's seemed like Michonne was slowly moving into the position of de facto group leader, with Rick going bananas and on his way out, but on the basis of €œConquer€? Carol may very well have snuck up from behind and snatched victory from the jaws of, er, Michonne. Her intimidation of that one weird kid who always wanted more of her delicious baked goods was understandable if a bit odd, and her playing the Stepford Wives game with the middle class party set of Alexandria was deliciously deceptive and manipulative. She's been doing the exact same thing as Rick, but in the shadows. So she doesn't come off quite as loopy. Her delivery of €œoh sunshine, you don't get both,€ to Rick as he tries to put together a plan to bring down the smug Alexandria gang was wonderfully cold and dead-on. Her arc from the beginning has been one of the most rewarding and interesting, and in the finale she finally made good on her initial promise and became one of the leading powers in the group.
