The Walking Dead: 9 Things "Conquer" Got Right (And 1 It Didn't)

2. About Bloody Time He Caught Up

The long tease of Morgan following the group during the post-credits scenes throughout this entire season have been a neat piece of short-form storytelling. But it's nice that he's finally actually caught up, right? If they'd carried that on any longer, it would've gotten ridiculous. Plus that opening really was awesome and came full circle in a great way at the very end. Re-introducing the character through the manner of saving Daryl and Aaron's bacon was a smart way of reminding the more casual audience who this character was, how cool he is and what he brings to the group. In season three he was kind of a crazy person, having lost his wife and son and then convinced he's on some sort of holy crusade to kill all zombies. He seems to have settled down a little more now, but still represents a change to the status quo. That final scene of him showing up just after Rick has shot a dude in the head is a lot more Earth-shaking than that concept sounds in theory, but for long-time fans that was a really well-timed and executed ending.
