The Walking Dead: 9 Things "Conquer" Got Right (And 1 It Didn't)

3. The Family Falls Apart

A couple of episodes ago, when the group showed up at Alexandria in the first place, they finally confirmed what the make up of the survivors is most reminiscent of. They're a family. A bunch of folks from different walks of life, who may not necessarily have much in common but have found themselves inextricably linked regardless. And this episode saw that family sort of fall apart. Michonne has always been Rick's right hand man, but here she finally started to question his motivations in a real way. Carol transcended how she started off and has no basically surpassed her fearless leader. Glenn got to the point where he's not the comedy guy, but a character whose equally not to be messed with. Which also went a fair ways to cementing the idea of them being a family. They have their differences and they argue and stuff, but they also evolve and change and try to understand each other. Even Father Gabriel gets forgiven for being a terrible person, for better or for worse. The dynamics of the group have never been clearer than they are here, even when it seems like everything's going to fall apart in light of Rick going crazy-go-nuts and putting the future of the Alexandria thing in peril.
