The Walking Dead: Every Major Villain Ranked

2. Negan

The Walking Dead Alpha
Gene Page/AMC

Negan, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, is a weird bad guy in that he also quite charming, likable, and overwhelmingly handsome. On the other hand, he is also a sociopathic maniac with a penchant for beating people to death with his barbed-wire coated baseball bat. So you know, swings and roundabouts.

The character is a hard one to play and requires an actor who is able to make audiences love you even when you are brutally murdering some of the show's most beloved characters. Thankfully, Morgan does just that with his portrayal of the character almost Oscar-worthy.

Negan is a great bad guy because he is hard to trust. One minute you think he is going to be good, only for him to do something crazy and mean to one of your favorite characters. Then, in the next episode, you start rooting for him, only to then hate him again for being a psychopath.

The best thing to take from Negan is that without him the show would most definitely not be the same. In fact, it might not have even survived.
