The Walking Dead: Every Season 2 Episode Ranked Worst To Best
10. Bloodletting
More than anything, Bloodletting is about human connection and how far people are willing to go in times of crisis to save the people they care about or feel responsible for.
Following Carl being shot at the end of the premiere, Bloodletting opens with Rick, Shane and Otis racing to the Greene family farmhouse, where wise farmer Hershel works tirelessly to save the boy, only to reveal he needs medical equipment last seen at an overrun school.
The strongest aspect of the episode comes from Rick and Shane, who despite their differences are here given ample time to show off just how close and loving they are, with Shane even willing to risk his life to get the equipment for Hershel.
There are a few issues with the episode, including Andrea's instantly tiresome desire to have a gun and Dale and T-Dog's pointless side plot on the highway, but between Jon Bernthal's bracing performance, the introduction of the Greene family and the heart-pounding cliffhanger, it's still a strong addition to the fold.
