The Walking Dead: Every Season 2 Episode Ranked Worst To Best
7. Judge, Jury, Executioner
Nearing the end of the season, Judge, Jury, Executioner finds the group at a serious turning point in their relationship with the world. Debating the fate of new threat Randall, they debate and finally agree he needs to be executed, much to the chagrin of a peaceable and weary Dale.
It's something of a turning point episode, this, because it starts to ask questions about just how far the group - namely Rick - are willing to go to ensure their survival.
Though the deaths of major threats would become an almost casual non-issue in coming seasons, with villains dropping like flies without a chance to beg, at this point in the series the characters are still unsure of themselves and what they think they need to do.
Dale takes centre stage throughout, representing this moral shift in the group as he tries desperately to save his friends' souls, only to end up eviscerated by a walker thinking he'd failed them. It's crushing, horrible and painfully avoidable, and signals a change in attitude amongst the Survivors.
