The Walking Dead: Every Season 3 Episode Ranked Worst To Best

11. Arrow On The Doorpost

The Walking Dead
AMC

Despite the fact that both Rick and The Governor had made up their minds about how their clash was destined to end, Arrow on the Doorpost finds the pair brought together by Andrea for an impromptu peace summit.

Interestingly, this is the only time the foes properly meet face-to-face before The Governor's return in season four, and it makes for a tense confrontation. Putting everything on the line, they stare each other down, share their stories, and seem ready to come to blows there and then.

There are other intriguing developments, including Hershel's bonding with the eccentric Milton and Merle's desire to kill The Governor before it's too late, but the biggest shocker comes when The Governor demands Rick gives him Michonne as a peace offering.

The episode is slow, set mostly in one place, and atmospheric, and whilst some of it feels like little more than filler, it's final twist complicates the plot brilliantly.
