The Walking Dead Season 7 Episodes
AMC

Just three days after the events of the premiere - in the narrative, of course - Negan and the Saviors showed up at the gates of Alexandria to rub salt in the wound, bringing with them an episode that served to get viewers truly acquainted with Negan's funny yet dangerous personality.

Much of the episode simply revolved around Negan being Negan, swinging his weight around, and making it clear who's boss. This is accomplished pretty well in his embarrassment of Rick - who was forced to carry around Lucille -, parading around of a subservient Daryl, and humiliation of Olivia, just to name a few things. In many ways, it's a miserable episode to watch, as Negan railroads across the group we've seen take on the Governor, the Hunters, and more without punishment, but it's made up for by the abundance of personality that Negan has, which makes the whole thing darkly funny.

Again, the episode was primarily a showcase for Negan, but it did start putting characters into place for the rest of the season as a result, from Spencer's dissent to sending Rosita and Michonne off on their own quests for vengeance to reinforcing Gabriel's growth, and also resulted in one of the season's best scenes in which Rick admits to Michonne that he knows that Judith isn't his.
