6. Lori & Judith

Yes, forget childbirth, Lori was actually gunned down by Lilly in the comic books on orders of The Governor. The sight of Lori being shot may be a twistedly enjoyable one for those who saw how she was the worst mother in the world in the TV show, but this is a genuinely horrifying, tragic death in the comic books. When Lori falls, she crushes the young baby Judith. It's a disturbing moment, of course, and Lilly's instant regret and anger at The Governor for making her do it results in his death. We're glad Judith is still alive and kicking in the TV show though, and while Lori wasn't exactly a favoured character, her TV death was stunningly achieved on-screen.
