3. Michonne

Strengths and Weaknesses: More than just an expert samurai, Michonne was able to see through The Governor when her companion Andrea was immediately ingratiated by his charms. Mysterious and hardly what you would call a 'people person', she wouldn't be averse to going into hiding if the going got particularly tough. Her mix of smarts and effectiveness in battle would serve her well, and, what's more, she punched Rick in the face when he was ruining everyone's chances at Alexandria. Loyal but not to a fault. What would happen? Her solitary nature and penchant for prolonged wandering mean she is an ideal character for a quest, and with her samurai sword skills you'd feel confident she could defend herself on the open road. Any character with a mysterious past like Michonne's has to stick around at least long enough to reveal it, so by being interesting you're effectively guaranteed a few seasons at the very least. That said, there's so much more to Michonne than that, and her fighting skills, coupled with her intelligent, unsentimental approach to life would see her do well.
