The Walking Dead Season 11 Review - 3 Downs & 5 Ups From "A New Deal"
2. Up - Daryl and Judith
Since Michonne left Judith and her son to look for Rick after discovering that he may be alive, Daryl has become the youngsters' guardian and, since season ten, he and Judith two have shared some tender moments with one another. From Judith helping to fix Dixon's iconic jacket, to the two enjoying hunting together through the woods, their relationship has been one of the show's best.
Now that the duo have reunited after being separated for so long, Daryl and Judith have a strain in their relationship after she questions him about returning to a broken home. Running away right before they set off to leave, Daryl finds the kiddo hiding in the quiet sanctuary of the church.
During their talk, Daryl reveals his own relationship with his father and how he is trying to do the right thing and protect her. Showing her some of his vulnerability, he acknowledges that things should be the way that she wants them to be as Judith absorbs everything in.
Fans will know of Daryl's abusive history and the struggle it has taken him to open up with those around him. It hasn't been easy for him to be able to look after her, and this touching moment shows just how challenging it's been for him as much as how much he loves her like his own child.
