The Walking Dead Season 11 Review - 3 Downs & 5 Ups From "A New Deal"

3. Up - "Take Happiness Wherever You Can Get It"

The Walking Dead Season 11 Episode 18 Sebastian Death
AMC

With the help of Carol, her group are safe once again thanks to her help and ability to form concrete plans. Even though she says goodbye to some who want to finally return home, she still helps her own people.

As most of the survivors prepare to leave and grab their weapons for the dangerous road ahead, Carol and Lydia share a tender moment as it's revealed that Lydia has started a relationship with Elijah, who was previously a part of the Wardens alongside Maggie. Having both lost their family, the two finally find happiness after dealing with so much trauma from their prior lives.

Crying at the thought of Henry, Carol comforts Lydia and tells her to "take happiness wherever you can get it" after having survived in the cruel wasteland for so long and knowing how important and rare being happy can be in their world.

Despite how important Henry was to both of them, and how much his loss impacted both of them, it showed how the two were able to move on from his cruel murder by the Whisperers and enter the next chapter of their lives with love and respect for one another.
