The Walking Dead Season 11 Review: 5 Ups & 5 Downs From "For Blood"

1. UP: It's Genuinely Unpredictable

The Walking Dead For Blood
AMC

Despite its flaws, it's hard to argue against the fact that For Blood is a seriously unpredictable episode of TV. Between the way it seemingly foreshadows major deaths - Rosita and Gracie look like they're done for throughout - and causes Daryl, Leah and Pope to confront each other, it's difficult to see where everyone'll end up.

Pope's death, whilst ultimately underwhelming, leads to some riveting tension between Daryl and Leah, the storm at Alexandria leaves numerous characters exposed to a potentially grisly fate, and the Reapers' fiery weapon of mass destruction makes things for Maggie and her group insanely complicated.

The Walking Dead has always struggled with getting cliffhangers right (think Glenn's death, or Glenn's fake death), and For Blood is no exception, but at least it makes everything leading up to them so damn good.

Here's to hoping the show keeps scoring high marks when it returns next year. Fingers crossed.
