The Walking Dead Season 11 Review: 5 Ups & 5 Downs From "For Blood"
2. UP: Daryl & Leah's Conflict
Outside of the action, the driving force of For Blood comes from Daryl and Leah's incredibly conflicted relationship, and their own contrasting turmoil.
Leah spends the episode losing faith in Pope's leadership, which ultimately causes her to kill him so she can protect her "family." Daryl, meanwhile, works behind the scenes to keep Maggie et al alive, before admitting everything to Leah and forcing her to make a decision about where she stands.
In the episode's most shocking twist, Leah kills Pope and pins his death on Daryl so she can take control of the Reapers. She then unleashes a crazy new weapon on Daryl, Maggie and Negan.
The entire ordeal is brilliantly paced and fantastically performed, and although I was sceptical of Leah's development last week, For Blood has made it clear she's a force to be reckoned with. How her and Daryl's story will end is sure to a heartbreaker.
