The Walking Dead Season 11 Review: 6 Ups & 4 Downs From "Acheron Part 1 & 2"

1. It Promises Big Things

The Walking Dead Season 11
AMC

The biggest takeaway from Acheron is how much drama it promises for the future of the show. The aforementioned Reapers look like they're going to be one of the group's biggest threats yet, and the slow but rewarding developments taking place in the Commonwealth promise some great development for Yumiko and a romantically smitten Eugene.

Outside of the villains, the relationship between Maggie and Negan is definitely going to guide many of the upcoming episodes, and promises to only get more compelling as they learn about the people they've become over the years.

Add to these developments the increased horror and exciting action beats, and what you have is a two-part premiere that may have its issues, but does enough stuff very well to make the rest of the season something to really look forward to.

Bring it on, AMC. Bring it on.
