The Walking Dead Season 11 Review: 9 Ups & 1 Down From "On The Inside"

1. UP: It Sets Up Some Big Confrontations

The Walking Dead
AMC

On the Inside ends with two major developments: In the first, Connie is finally reunited with Kelly in particularly touching fashion, whilst Virgil lays badly injured by the Ferals; and in the second, Daryl learns that Frost has been killed and that Pope may know about Daryl true allegiances.

Though Pope doesn't explicitly state what he knows, his menacing grin and Daryl's concerned expression speaks volumes, and promises to put the younger Dixon in even more trouble with the group in the next couple episodes, making it clear he's going to have to do something drastic to escape the Reapers' clutches.

But, of course, Daryl's also managed to tell Maggie and the group about the Reapers' compound, and since Maggie, Negan, Gabriel and Elijah end the episode by escaping the safehouse, it could be that they're going to prep a rescue mission.

Add to these thrilling "what ifs" the fact that Connie's finally back with the main group and Virgil will has information about Michonne, and what you have is a great episode that ends with perfect ambiguity, and promises even bigger things to come.
