The Walking Dead Season 11 Review: 9 Ups & 1 Down From "On The Inside"
9. UP: Daryl Undercover Is Thrilling
On the Inside's B-plot concerns Daryl, now officially recognised as a Reaper but still being tested by its enigmatic leader Pope.
Early on in the episode, he's called in to torture Frost, a member of Maggie's crew who's making sure Daryl's true allegiances stay hidden. Daryl's forced to brutally interrogate Frost, even taking a finger in order to get information, and you can see both men trying not to give away too much or get each other killed.
Later, the Reapers are tasked with raiding Maggie's safehouse, where Daryl is able to let his friends know they're in trouble. He then hides them under the floorboards.
The entire development is thrilling to watch, especially when it comes to Daryl clashing with Reaper hothead Carver.
But surely the best part of Daryl's undercover work comes as the Reapers prepare to leave the house, when he slyly reveals to Maggie, Negan, Gabriel and Elijah how many Reapers there are and how protected their compound is. It's crafty stuff, and hints at some heavy action to come.
