3. Sludge Walkers
The walkers have been the stars of Season 6, and the practical effects team deserve an immense round of applause for their efforts in creating a variety of walkers. It is something that was needed, but you could just go around with a bunch of (for example) flame walkers, or ice walkers, or generally super-powered members of the living dead. Instead, The Walking Dead team have used the environment to affect walkers. They're all decaying, and in some cases, they're growing mossy, wood-like appearances after spending so long embedded in that scenery. Some of the most shocking zombies were the 'sludge' walkers who emerged from the gruesome depths in the sewers. They were completely stunning, and Maggie rippling a ribcage of one was disgustingly cool.
