2. The Wolves Invasion

Without a doubt the most shocking episode of the season was Number 2 when the wolves struck. Carol was gazing through the window watching Shelly smoking outside when, without any warning whatsoever, the Alexandrian was slashed by a wolf. The assault had begun. The following scenes were utterly bleak, and utterly hopeless. Residents were being butchered where they stood in broad daylight, and while some of the main characters sprung into action, it wasn't enough to prevent an absolute massacre of characters we barely knew. It was one of the most barbaric episodes in The Walking Dead's bloody history, and that's a truly remarkable feat to achieve.
