The Walking Dead Season 6: 10 Things Episode 1 Got Right

1. Black And White Flashbacks

This is a double-whammy point. Both the flashbacks and the black and white effect were used brilliantly in the first episode. They were genius moves that really refreshed the show and got it moving in a great direction. The black and white made it all excellently clear that we'd be dipping back in time, and set the perfect mood for the show. As for the content of the flashbacks, many people expected those storylines to be played out across the first half of the season; a predictable prospect. Instead, the unrest, the fall out, the potential mutiny, the Rick-Jessie situation and more scenarios were observed up in the first episode. It's a great move that gives the writers plenty of room to breathe and tell greater stories. If the rest of Season 6 can maintain the Premiere's level, we're in for a genuine treat.
