7. Thinning Out The Cast
Pre-Season 6, the cast list was enormous. I've been waiting for a bloodbath since Season 5's phenomenal - yet mostly death-free - finale, and we've certainly had that. Episode 3 continued to bump off relatively nameless Alexandrians like 'her' and 'the other guy' and 'thingy-doo-dah', you know, 'him'... We're pretty much down to only characters we can name - barring a few extra pieces of Alexandrian walker-fodder. That's a good thing, as it means every death from now on will have some real emotion, whether you like the character or not. There are still too many fringe characters (Rosita, Tara, Father Gabriel to name a few) who need to be given increased roles, but the fact that we've had a huge population cull will go a long way towards making the show feel less cramped.
