The Walking Dead Season 6: 7 Things You Might Have Missed In Episode 9
3. 1993
Whenever you see a number, a code, a sign in a TV show, you have to wonder whether there was any thought behind it. Here we have Daryl released the fuel from his tanker, with a split-second shot of '1993' in the background, on the truck. A quick '1993 the walking dead' Google search unearthed a neat, little gem. In 1993, 1st Battalion 9th Marines of the US Marine Corps launched 'Operation Restore Hope' following the Battle Of Mogadishu. But how does that even slightly relate to show? Well, for starters, Daryl and Co. were on a mission to quite literally restore hope and the military unit's official nickname was indeed 'The Walking Dead'. It even featured on their insignia. It may well be coincidental that the show chose the number, but it's a cool detail to see.
