The Walking Dead Season 6: 9 Things You Need To Know About Jesus

1. What It Means For The Show

The Walking Dead has a big new character, and one who is a hero, so that's surely going to upset that status quo. If it were a villain, it'd increase the dramatic stakes and put lives at risk, but it'd still be the same survivors battling against him. Introducing Jesus could well mean that another main player is on the way out, especially because he's such an important, fan-favourite figure. It also means we should expect a new raft of characters to be entering proceedings, because if it does follow the story of him being from Hilltop, then it's going to need an awful lot of people in order to successfully convey that (it doesn't need to be 200, but it will have to be more than a couple). Finally, this is really the signal to get ready for the Saviours, Negan, and war. Jesus and the Hilltop Colony have a big part to play in that, alongside Rick and Alexandria, so introducing him now is very much a sign of the show ramping things up as they head towards the villain's introduction, which is still looking likely to be in the Season 6 finale, but also an indication that he will be a major character long after that as well. War is coming to The Walking Dead, and Jesus has arrived to help save them. What did you think of Jesus' first appearance? Are you excited to see where his story goes from here?
