Tara and Heath's long supply run was mentioned long before they departed, and since they left the main group, several references have been made about Tara not knowing Denise's fate.

Alanna Masterson (Tara) was pregnant in the real world during Season 6 filming, meaning that could explain her absence for most of the second half, while Corey Hawkins (Heath) has been selected to lead a reboot of 24.

If his schedule becomes jammed, it'd be easy to see The Walking Dead simply phasing Heath out of the show. Will the pair return during the finale, or are they destined to linger away from the main events until Season 7?
