Whenever a sign appears in virtually any TV show or film, you can expect some sort of meaning behind it. Easter eggs are littered throughout The Walking Dead, and the Season 6 finale provided a fitting tribute to a Hollywood giant.
Joe Viskocil may not be a household name, but his work certainly is. The late special effects guru has produced some of the most iconic features in over 80 films ranging from the original Star Wars trilogy (he was responsible for the Death Star explosion and the AT-AT walkers on Hoth) to Terminator, Godzilla and more.
Viskocil worked with The Walking Dead visual effects chief Greg Nicotero on Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III, and he's decided to pay tribute to his old friend in the form of a subtle reference on the show.
