The Walking Dead Season 6 Finale: 10 Things To Expect When Negan Arrives

1. He'll Change The Show

The Walking Dead Negan
AMC

Negan, for a couple of reasons, is something completely different to what we've had on the show before, and that means he's going to be changing it in a couple of big ways.

The first is that they've lacked an overarching human villain ever since the Governor, but the two shouldn't be confused. The Governor was prone to rash anger and making mistakes; Negan is intelligent, calculated, and doesn't do anything without thinking about it. He's someone whose weaknesses can't be so easily exposed, if they exist at all. He'll test Rick and co in ways they haven't been before, and also introduce a new layer of violence and twisted humour into the show.

The other is the fact that he has the potential to be the villain for subsequent seasons. The Governor was largely done with in one season, coming back for a conclusion in a couple of Season 4 episodes. Negan could last into Season 8 and maybe beyond that, which would be a welcome break up of the flawed and repeated Walking Dead model of finding a place, dealing with a threat, and moving on. He'll also kill a bunch of people, some of them main characters, so there's always that to add into the mix.

Are you excited for Negan's arrival? What are you hoping to see from the new villain? Share your thoughts down in the comments.
