So, finally, after months and months of waiting, the cat was let out of the bag as we found out the target of Negan’s infamous barbed-wire baseball bat, Lucille.

Poor, poor Abraham Ford. Alas, we knew him and his magnificent moustache well.

In fairness, Abraham was the guess of many viewers when speculating on just who Negan was brutalizing at the end of Season 6. Unfortunately for the mustachioed master, whilst he was a relative veteran of the show by this point, he wasn’t quite at the level of a Rick, Daryl, Carol, Maggie or Michonne when it comes to being expendable.

With one brutal, shocking thud of barbed-wire-infused wood to the top of Ford’s ginger noggin, we all got the answer to the summer’s longstanding cliffhanger, and what a bloody, disturbing answer it was.
