The Walking Dead Season 7: 11 WTF Moments From 'The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be'

11. Negan’s Goading

In a manner reminiscent of The Emperor goading Luke Skywalker to strike him down, before we get to those moments, the first WTF moment of The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be saw Negan taunting a battered-down Rick Grimes.

Before we even got to see which pour soul had helped to quench Lucille’s thirst, Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan dragged Rick off for a little drive. Here, we saw this uber-rogue verbally poke and prod Rick as he dared him to attack him with the axe that was nearby.

This was a shocker in the way that it firmly gave us a further insight into the mentality and bravado of Negan following his brooding introduction during the Season 6 finale. And of course, as soon as Rick reached for the axe, Negan was quick to pull out a machine gun. The bastard.

For Rick Grimes though, the worst was yet to come.
