6. Daryl Being Daryl

In terms of The Walking Dead as a TV show, where Daryl Dixon is concerned it’s regularly a case of “if he dies, we riot” amongst certain quarters of the fanbase. Simply put, Daryl is the apple of the eye of many a Walking Dead fan.

With Norman Reedus’ character, he’s somebody created specifically for the TV series, with no comic book background for this badass redneck with a heart of gold. As such, there’s always murky waters when it comes to the possibility of Daryl ever being killed off.

In The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be, however, it looked for a minute – just a minute – that Daryl may have done something extremely stupid.

With Abraham turned into a pile of gooey rubble, and with Negan forcing Rosita to take a good look at this pile of blood ‘n’ brains, Daryl had seen enough. Breaking from the floor and landing a punch on Negan, many watching had a shot of WTF fear run down their spine as the cold possibility reared its head of Daryl having marked himself down as ‘next’ on Negan’s hitlist.

Luckily for those worried fans, Negan would spare Daryl… for now. Still, that didn’t make it any less shocking to see the ever-grizzled Dixon refusing to take Negan’s torment lying down.
