The Walking Dead Season 7: 17 Easter Eggs & References You Might've Missed

6. Nicotero Cameos

Greg Nicotero has directed by episodes of The Walking Dead than anyone else, and is the main man behind bringing us the show's most memorable walkers - including, for example, Winslow this year.

It's no surprise, then, that he occasionally appears in the show himself. As he revealed on Instagram, he made an appearance in the episode Sing Me A Song, as one of the walkers guarding the Sanctuary. This marks his fifth cameo on the series, every time having played a walker: his first came in just the third ever episode of the show.

His family also got in on the act as well, with his two children appearing at the Kingdom in the mid-season premiere. That's his daughter on the left of the first image, and his son in the middle of the second.
