They've lost friends, loved ones, weapons, valuables, and now Rick and the gang have unceremoniously enjoyed their final nights in comfortable beds for the foreseeable future.
The fact that Negan & Co. didn't use the mattresses for themselves sets them apart from other groups of survivors. Most would strip other communities of their resources to use themselves, the Saviours do so with the end-goal to mentally crush their enemies.
