The Walking Dead Season 7: 6 Ups And 2 Downs From 'Hostiles And Calamities'

6. Learning More About The Sanctuary

We've ventured to a number of new locations this year on The Walking Dead, from the Renaissance Faire-esque Kingdom to the all-female Oceanside, and most recently the junkyard that plays home to the (rather odd) Scavengers.

The only villainous one, though, is the Sanctuary, but it's also the most slick of the bunch. Even from what little we'd seen it operated like a well-oiled (if terrified) machine, had a huge population, and of course a lot of supplies (many of which are taken from the others).

This episode takes us deeper into the locale than before though, and it's fascinating to see both how they operate and just how much they really have. While the other communities fight for what they can get, here's a world where you can have anything you want, from potato chips to pickles (just not lobster, obviously). There's a clear hierarchy, and a real structure to the place that makes it work so well.

Of course a lot of it is built on fear, but it's still an impressive insight into the people our heroes are up against.
