The Walking Dead Season 7: 6 Ups And 2 Downs From 'Hostiles And Calamities'

5. Yeah, Science!

The Walking Dead Eugene
Gene Page/AMC

There's a lot of Eugene in this episode - too much, really - and not all of it works. I mean, it's still Eugene.

However, he does get one particularly fun moment, when he shows off his science skills to Negan's wives. Using balloons and helium he creates a mini-explosion, which looks like a hell of a lot of fun - like mentos in a coke bottle, only taken to the next extreme.

It's actually fun to little spend a bit of time with Eugene and see a slightly different side to him, where he isn't being pathetically weak and/or an absolute dick, and instead just relaxes and shows off in a more humanised way the fact that he is a pretty intelligent and talent guy, who could genuinely be useful.
