The Walking Dead Season 7: 6 Ups And 2 Downs From 'Hostiles And Calamities'

3. And Challenging It

Just as impressive as establishing Negan's rule, it's also very interesting to see the ways people on the inside are going about challenging it, or at least trying to.

We've already seen Dwight's dislike of Negan, and he's still torn between defiance and duty, but refuses to come clean here. If he were 100% loyal he'd have told Negan everything he knew, and that could be important moving forwards.

Then there's the defiance of Negan's wives, which is more unexpected. Presented somewhere between seeing this as the best option, or being too scared to do anything about it, they plot to kill him. Eugene sees through it and puts a stop to it, but it's interesting to note that Negan's wives - it's Sherry who freed Daryl and truly went against him - are the ones among the Saviours most willing to stand against him.
