The Walking Dead Season 7: 6 Ups And 2 Downs From 'Hostiles And Calamities'

2. Sherry's Letter

The Walking Dead Dwight
Gene Page/AMC

Speaking of Sherry, one of the most powerful parts of the episode comes when Dwight travels to their secret meeting spot, only to find a letter from her stating she's moved on, and doesn't even expect him to find it.

We hear it in voiceover as he acts out in pure devastation, and despite the fact that we haven't spent a great deal of time with them as a couple it still manages to be an affecting scene. We know enough about their relationship, and the sacrifices and choices that each of them made, that seeing it all poured out makes for compelling viewing.

It's a particular gut-punch when Dwight then puts the beer and pretzels on the table, and it's a solid way of making him an even stronger character.
