The Walking Dead Season 7: 6 Ups And 3 Downs From 'The Well'

3. The Humour

It's not often that you can say The Walking Dead is funny. Almost never, in fact. This is a show that doesn't even attempt humour, much less pull it off.

Maybe that's why the comedy in The Well stands out so much, but it's also because it's genuinely well-pitched and humorous. It's the funniest The Walking Dead has ever been, and after last week boy was the levity needed.

As already mentioned, Morgan got a couple of killer lines this week, especially when taking Carol to meet the King for the first time. Ezekiel himself gets in on the act, mostly through his over-the-top theatrical nature, and there's a real sense of quirkiness to the Kingdom that helps carry the humour.

However, it'd be remiss not to mention the episode's - and by default now the show's - chief source of comic relief: Jerry. Ezekiel's right hand man and the internet's new favourite Walking Dead character/meme, he doesn't really get to do an awful lot. What he does get to do, though, is stand there and crack jokes and puns whenever they're needed (and even when not).

"If you need me, holler. I keep in hollerin’ range. Deuces!”
