The Walking Dead Season 7: 9 Things You Need To Know About King Ezekiel (And Shiva)

7. He Used To Be A Zookeeper

In the show, we don't really get to explore that much of the characters' lives before the apocalypse. We've seen the odd flashback, heard the odd tale, but for the most part it's focused on the here and now, and simply staying alive and moving forward.

That might be the case with Ezekiel too, although he is a guy who comes with a built-in backstory, and one that's a little different from standard. He wasn't a police officer or a soldier or any of the things you might expect for someone to become a leader in this world, but a zookeeper.

It's not specified which zoo exactly he worked out, but we do know it was around Washington, D.C., so it could even be that he worked at the Smithsonian Zoo. And, of course, that zoo is where he met Shiva.
