The Walking Dead Season 7 Finale: 10 Things That Should Happen

6. Give Rick Some Sort Of Early Victory

Even though some of his decisions make him harder to root for (such as the way he went into Oceanside to take their weapons, as if that was much different from Negan's modus operandi), Rick is still the hero for all intents and purposes, and ultimately has to win.

The show spent the first half of Season 7 completely breaking him down to his lowest ebb, putting him completely in the pocket of Negan. The second half, however, has turned things around considerably, giving Rick his mojo back and leading him to build allegiances with other communities to fight back.

Despite the happier journey he's been on, though, he still hasn't had a real victory against Negan yet, with the last semblance of victory against the Saviours coming when they took out an outpost back in Season 6.

It's unclear how much of any sort of battle we'll see in the finale, but in some shape or form we need to have Rick get a bit of a victory over Negan, whether that's in taking someone out, a tactical victory, or just punching him repeatedly in the face (which is unlikely, but would be pretty fun to see).
