The Walking Dead Season 7 Premiere: 4 Ups & 6 Downs From 'The Day Will Come When You Won't Be'
Ups...
4. Double Kill
The question on everyone's lips was 'which character will die?' Turns out, we should've been pluralising that. In what I guess was supposed to be a massive swerve, The Walking Dead decided to off not one but two of its characters.
The first of these was Abraham, who'd been my pick since before the Season 6 finale, due to his status as being well-liked and just about big enough, but not a truly major player. That wasn't enough though, and when Daryl decided to punch Negan after hearing enough of his sh*t, Glenn got to have a meeting with Lucille too.
While there were various problems with this, I'll at least give the show credit for killing off two characters, and both big ones. This episode would've been worse had only Abraham died. Had they attempted two deaths but with someone like Eugene, it wouldn't have had any more impact than just one. If the show is going to be reliant on shocks and wanting to keep viewers on their toes, then this was an effective way of doing it.
